In the Days of Noah

Romans1:15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
[17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
[18] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
[19] Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
[20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
[21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

In the beginning man not only knew God but walked with God in a garden. Speaking directly with Him and having the ability to fellowship with Him. Man did not have a litany of commands but simply not to eat of the fruit of the tree. Man did not even have to wear clothing. Man was free. Man could not even obey one simple rule and found himself thrust from the garden. Man’s fellowship broken by sin and the fall of man began. The first man born murdered the second man born. Man had no excuse from the very beginning God had revealed Himself to man.

Romans 1:23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
[24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
[25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

By the time the third birth of man Seth is mentioned mankind began to “call upon the name of the Lord” meaning not they were seeking God but they were calling things not God a god. This rock is the Lord or this tree is the Lord etc..(Genesis 4:26)

Romans 1:26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
[31] Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

In less than 2,000 years man had filled the world with violence and corrupted the world (Genesis 6:11) to the point God decided to destroy humanity (Genesis 6:13). Noah having found grace in the eyes of the Lord was spared along with his family. Judgment fell on the earth in the year 1656.
Has mankind progressed so much since the days of Noah? After almost 2,000 years of the preaching of the gospel of the grace of God have we made great leaps of progress? Let us look at 11 Timothy 3 and find what God has to say about the end times of mankind.

2Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
[2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
[3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
[4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
[5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
[6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
[7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
[8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
[9] But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

Wow. Mankind has not improved much. Comparing the end time with the days of Noah and we see a startling thing. We find we have come full circle. History has indeed repeated itself. Jesus Himself having warned humanity the last days will be like it was in the days of Noah. A fool could look at today’s society and , if they were honest, would have to acknowledge man has made no progress. We have regressed back to those who did not want to worship God as God.

2Tim.3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2a] For men shall be lovers of their own selves,

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

2Tim 3:2b covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Romans 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

2Tim 3:3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Romans 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

[4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Romans 1:[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

2Tim. 3:5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
[6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
[7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Romans 1:22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

2Tim. 3:8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
[9] But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

Romans 1:32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Now we find the condition of humanity just as it was in the days of Noah. Jesus did not teach the world would be progressively made better through the preaching of the gospel. But rather, mankind would get progressively worse until it was in the same state as in the days of Noah. What was the result? Judgment fell. Just as it did on the world of Noah so shall it fall on this society now. Just as in the days of Noah, Noah was rescued so it will be in the end as those who have trusted in Christ has Savior will be removed just prior to the fall of God’s judgment. I encourage you today to come to the cross and receive Christ into your hearts before it is too late.

Romans 10:9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
[11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
[12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
[13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
