Seven Things We Preach

This morning I would like to share with you seven things we preach. Turn to Romans chapter one:

Rom.1:[15] So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

We preach the gospel, which means “good news”. The good news God loves you! The good news you don’t have to die in your sins! The good news you don’t have to go to Hell! The good news you have a Savior!  The good news you can live forever in a perfect world! A world without poverty, sickness or death!

We preach the word of faith.

Romans 10:[8] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

It isn’t by being good or doing good works that you obtain salvation but by simple faith. Faith in Jesus Christ and His resurrection. It doesn’t take a denomination. It doesn’t take baptism. We preach the word of faith.

We preach Jesus Christ.

Romans 16:[25] Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

It is all about Jesus. From the beginning of creation it has always been about Jesus. We don’t preach the President. We don’t preach Joel Osteen. We don’t preach Billy Graham or John Hagee. We don’t preach Mohammad. We preach Jesus Christ.

We preach the cross and on it Christ crucified.

1Corinthians 1:[17] For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

[18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

[19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

[20] Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

[21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

[22] For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

[23] But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

We preach an old wooden cross. Roughly hewn and splintered and blood stained cross! A method of public shame in death. A method to dispose of criminals and murderers. A slow and torturous method of death! We preach Jesus died on a horrible death on a wooden cross willingly laying down His life for your sin.

We preach the Resurrection.

1Corinthians 15:[11] Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

[12] Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

[13] But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

[14] And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

We preach Jesus came out of Hell! We preach that you to may live forever. We preach you too can have a Resurrected body. We preach you too can have a perfect body not subject to human frailty. We preach He died for our sins and Resurrected for our life.

We preach peace.

Ephesians 2: [13] But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

[14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

[15] Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

[16] And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

[17] And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

[18] For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

[19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

We no longer need to be alien to God. We no longer have to keep over 400 commands to be pleasing to the Father. We can rest from our own works and rest in the eternal security of the believer. We may now become a child of God. We may come to God dressed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

We preach the word.

2Timothy 4:[2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Our message is not some cleverly designed thoughts of man. It is the word of the Living God Creator of the universe. We do not preach my word or the words of some philosopher dead and buried but we preach the Word of God.
