What Kind Of Fellow Are You?

I ask you this morning, what kind of fellow are you? What do you do for the cause of Christ? Why do you do it? Do you study His word? Do you attend His house? Do you pray? Do you help others? Do you show the light to those around you through word and deed? This morning I want to share with you why we do the things we do and ask you again what kind of fellow are you?

First of all. If you are a Christian you are a spoil of war. You are engaged in a spiritual battle between the forces of good and evil. You were fighting on the side of the devil and Jesus took you away and you became a prisoner of Jesus Christ. As a prisoner we are a spoil of war.

Romans 16:[7] Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

We do what we do because of our love for the Lord, our minister, our church, or our brethren. Because of the love in us we have a desire to help and we become a fellow helper.

2Corinthians 8:[23] Whether any do inquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be inquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.

We do what we do because Heaven is our home and we are no longer of this world. We have become fellow citizens of another place.

Ephesians 2:[19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

We do it because we are of the same family. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. We have become fellow heirs.

Ephesians 3:[6] That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

We do it because we are in a spiritual war and it is our duty. We have a responsibility to the Lord. We have become fellow soldiers.

Philippians 2:25] Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

We do it because we know that the work we do for the Lord will not go unnoticed but He has promised us rewards for our work. We have become fellow laborers.

Philippians 4:[3] And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

We do it because Jesus has given Himself for us and we belong to Him. We have become a fellow servant.

Colossians 1:[7] As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;

We do it because we love our people and want them to be a part of the family of God. We have become a fellow worker.

Colossians 4:[10] Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister’s son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;)
[11] And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.

Again I ask you this morning what kind of fellow are you?
